History
Squarespace was built by Anthony Casalena as a blog hosting service in 2003. Since 2003 Squarespace has grown substantially and provides e-commerce tools, analytics, domain name services all by using drag and drop features to replace backend coding.
Requirements
Squarespace provides a list of browsers that meet the minimum requirements for editing your website. The list includes, Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, Microsoft Edge Legacy and Safari. Squarespace on browsers do have a few requirements with settings which include allowing cookies otherwise blocking these cookies can interfere when you are editing your site. Browser add-ons or extensions can interfere with editing your site so leaving those add ons disabled while editing is better. Lastly, JavaScript has to be enabled to be able to edit your website
Hosted or Self-Hosted
Squarespace is a hosted platform so they host your site so you do not have to manage it yourself.
Cost
Squarespace has 4 different pricing options which are Personal,Business, Commerce Basic and Commerce Advanced. Personal plan is $16/month and offers mobile optimized websites,templates and a free custom domain. Personal also provides drag and drop editors,basic website metrics,Squarespace AI and more.
Business plan costs $23/month and offers a little more than personal plan does which are advanced website analytics,fully integrated ecommerce and checkout or your domain, plus features that Personal Plan offers which are templates, free custom domain and mobile optimized sites
Commerce Basic Plan costs $27/month and offers templates, free custom domain, advanced website analytics, integrated ecommerce, 0% transaction fee, checkout on your domain, strong merchandising, mobile optimized sites.
Commerce Advanced Plan is the most expensive and costs $49/month and offers selling subscriptions, advanced discounts, advanced shipping, templates, free custom domain, advanced website analytics, integrated ecommerce, 0% transaction fee, checkout on your domain, strong merchandising, mobile optimized sites.

Square space controls almost 3 million websites that are live today roughly 2% of all websites on the internet. Squarespace also has over 4 million unique subscriptions.
