History

Slack was created in 2009 and released in 2014 and has become one of the quickest growing enterprise software to be created. Slack was created to provide services for companies and businesses, Currently Slack provides services for billions of companies all around the world. Slack provides great user-experience and features for companies everywhere.

Requirements

There are a few requirements for running slack which include requirements on your browser,desktop and mobile. For desktop, Apple, Windows, and Linux each recommend a certain version to provide the best experience. For Apple desktop version should be at macOS 11 or above. For Windows desktop version should be Windows 10 version 21H2 or above Windows Server 2016. Lastly for Linux the desktop version should be at version Ubuntu LTS releases 18.04 or above Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.0.

For Browser there are four different browser options which include Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Microsoft Edge. With Microsoft edge and Google Chrome, Version 106 or above is recommended for best results. Firefox version 105 or higher is required, and with safari version 16 or above version 16.

With Mobile there are two versions which include iOS and Android. iOS recommends iOS 15 or above with the app version at 22.09.10 or higher. With Android recommending Android 10 or above with the app version at 22.09.10 or higher. With Android, Google Play Store has to be installed by default or it will not work.

Slack is a hosted solution so you can sign up for Slack, create your own Workspace and collaborate with others.

Costs

There are different costs depending on what your plans are. If you want to have more power for smaller teams to increase your productivity then Pro for $7.25/month is best. The Pro plan allows you to have unlimited workflow automation/integration, knowledge,organization and productivity tools as well as unlimited amounts of channels.
